Location Marketing Data and Privacy Policy

Location Marketing is compliant with the EU Global Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which came into effect on 25 May 2018.

As both a data controller and a data processor, Location Marketing commits to the very best practice approaches to ensure data protection, privacy of individuals and information security.

Following a review of our internal processes and systems, we can confirm that we believe that according to ‘Legitimate Interests’ we have a legal basis, under GDPR, to continue to process data and engage with business targets on behalf of our clients (usually the economic development teams of city, regional or national governments) to enable the provision of consultancy support and advice to help companies with global expansion and international trade support.

We only collect and record publicly available information that is used for legitimate interests of business-to-business engagement.

We understand and respect the fundamental rights of all individuals to data privacy and we keep the collection and processing of personal information to a minimum, no more than basic contact details (such as name, title, LinkedIn profile, phone and email).

The data that we collect and process will only be shared with our clients where explicit permission has been received from individuals, so that we can provide the consultancy services and support that individuals would expect.

All data held will be reviewed every three years and where legitimate interests are no longer relevant, the data will be deleted.

Any individual can assert their right under GDPR to be forgotten and be completely removed from all of our databases and those of our clients.

We never use mass-marketing emails, as we do not think it’s a very smart way of engaging with people; nor do we recommend that our clients use bulk-email, bought lists or blanket approaches to communications either.

We passionately believe in the principles of ‘permission marketing’, which means that all our interactions are bespoke, relevant and anticipated. We always seek specific and time-limited permission before sending any business information or marketing materials.

If you have any concerns or would like more information on our approach to data protection and privacy issues, please contact us at: contact@location-marketing.eu
